Description: This listing is for a signed Marion Lang Mid-Century Modern (1960's) Blue Green bowl. Marion Lang (1914 - 1924) is best known for the handsomely designed and vividly colored enamel plates and bowls she produced between 1955 and 1989 under the name Peacock Enamels. This bowl was produced by applying silver foil to a copper base and then layers of enamel to create a rich, deep hue. She often scored lines within the silver foil (sgraffito designs) to create light refraction. The bowl has 6 etched, intricate, circular patterns of varying designs around a center starburst. This bowl is stunning, rare, sought after, and museum quality. Her art is currently housed at the Enamel Arts Foundation https://www.enamelarts.org/etched-bowl/, Yale University Art Gallery, and The Rhode Island Institute of Design https://risdmuseum.org/art-design/collection/peacock-plate-blue-pattern-20225617. This bowl is in very good condition. The underside has the Lang signature as well as the original silver, foil Peacock Enamels label. See all photos for overall condition.
