The Memorial to the War of 1912 or the Memorial to the Serbian-Turkish War of 1912, popularly known as Sanctified Kosovo, was a decoration of the Kingdom of Serbia and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. The monument was established on October 31, 1913 in memory of the first Balkan war in which Serbia won. The monument was awarded to all those who participated and contributed to the war effort with their actions. After its establishment, slightly more than 400 thousand copies of this award were awarded. It is not formally known who was the author of the monument project, but most researchers agree that it was very likely the artist and Chancellor of the Order, Đorđe Čarapić. The law also provided for the awarding of a charter, but due to the imminent outbreak of the First World War, this was not realized and not a single charter that was awarded with the monument is known. The first series of monuments was made in the Swiss company "Brothers Igenin", while later series were made in other workshops, including the Parisian company "Artus Bertrand". With its motif, the monument celebrates "sanctified Kosovo", as well as other Serbian royal decorations established at this time - the Medal for Courage from 1913 and the Medal for Merit of the Red Cross, and at the same time it belongs to a wider circle of medal achievements, Kosovo monuments, which since the mid-nineteenth century they have the Vidovdan cult as their motive.
