Description: This is an early helmet or Crusader helmet, also called the "transitional helmet," made from mild steel that has been cold forged and hammer hardened. The helmet is about 1.6mm/1.5mm thick. This helmet feels very solid! Made by the armorer Dez Armstrong! My personal opinion is that Dez Armstrong makes the best mild steel armor I ever had! I used some of his armor in light sparring and some what intense sparring (with steel long swords in HEMA) and never seen dents! His armor is great stuff. This particular helmet I never used in any sparring but only for show, but the helmet is built very solid. Honestly, I almost don't want to let this go.
