Description: Medieval Halberd Circa 15th - 17th century AD. Iron. Minimal restoration. Mechanical cleaning, microwax coating. Weight - 1490,0 grams. Length -50,0 cm. Blade length - 29 cm. Halberd (German Hellebarde, French Hallebarde) is a pole cold weapon with a combined tip consisting of a needle-shaped (round or faceted) spear point and a battle ax blade with a sharp butt. The halberd is practically similar to the berdysh, and differs from it in that the tube at the top ended with a spear (for some berdysh, stabbing blows were performed with the toe of the ax blade). Later, with the development of firearms, the halberd became a ceremonial weapon.
