It allows her to get up and down without much effort at all, surprising sturdy if you don't press outward on the arms too much. It's of course a bit wobbly, but with a moment or two of figuring out how to push yourself up it is quite sturdy indeed and is a life-saver. Assembly was super simple, and the bracket attaches very securely to the rear of the toilet seat in the same holes for the lid - - piece of cake. I like the ability to fully adjust the height of the arms and also of their distance apart. This unit is not designed for Olympic routines, and you can buy much more expensive units that are a bit sturdier, but if you will just think and figure out the best way to push yourself up this unit will do just fine. A quality and inexpensive solution to anyone who has trouble getting around or standing up.
