Born in Osaka in 1903, he joined the amateur photographer group "Nanka Photo Club" and released a series of colorful and experimental works that went far beyond the photographic expression of the same period, and later became the Tampei Photo Club. As a member, he was also engaged in avant-garde creative activities, but he is a legendary photographer who died at the young age of 38 due to renal failure in 1942. Daido Moriyama has been so respected that he published a photo book "Journey to Nakaji" with a homage to Nakaji Yasui, and described it as "the father of modern Japanese photography".
