The men's Elite Padded Bike Shorts stays in place for century rides. It has our favorite chamois pad sewn inside. The chamois is a high mileage Carbon Air-Mesh Pad designed for avid cyclists. This high-end endurance chamois pad is comfortable for 80-100 miles or more. Ideal for riders with extended hours in the saddle. It is our best chamois pad for aching sit bones! We also added plenty of 3M reflective to the legs to help add visibility. LEG GRIPPERS The leg band is a highly technical combination of two spandex fabrics laminated to a soft silicone gel for a gentle grip. The legs on the Elite Bike Short have a soft elastic-free band with a light silicone gripper that is incredibly soft and easy to wear- no binding elastic or rubber. The short stays in place during long, challenging rides. The cuff is designed to be gentle on the skin and works perfectly to keep the shorts from riding up with the muscle flex during cycling. Leg sizes are generous to prevent any discomfort. The fabric is very stretchy and feels like a second skin. These shorts will not ride up as you ride! REFLECTIVE How 3M Reflective Material works: Scotch-lite reflective material products use a technology known as retro-reflection. It helps the eye perceive light in low-light conditions. In more scientific terms, retro-reflection occurs when light rays return in the direction they came. Much reflected light is returned directly to the original light source, such as a car's headlights. Since very little light is scattered when the light returns, retro-reflective materials appear brightest to an observer near the original light source. We added 3M reflective to strategically thought out places on these shorts. Reflectivity adds visibility and safety to your ride. Chamois Pad Information: Elite Chamois Pad The Elite 4D chamois pad performs well for endurance cycling. It is engineered and pre-shaped using four levels and densities of foam and gel. The Air Mesh chamois is an ergonomic pad with a state-of-the-art design. This chamois pad comes from CyTech, an Italian chamois pad expert and manufacture. The shape is seamless and highly engineered. Air Gel Mesh inside the chamois optimizes shock impact and absorption. This chamois stays dry and does not compress. The surface has a Resistex branded carbon fiber, a knitted, brushed surface that feels soft next to the skin. The Italian-made chamois pad is excellent for long-distance road or mountain bike rides. It has a seamless surface design with three-dimensional foams fitted together like a puzzle. These foams absorb road shock and act as a pillow on the saddle. The anatomical fit design uses a combination of elasticity and density. This pad was tested in the excellent category by our product development team. Color: Charcoal Two Fabric zones: The internal crotch area is a rugged 77% Nylon 23% Spandex for stretch and abrasion resistance between the legs. The outer side panels construction uses our century fabric made of 83% polyester 17% Lycra. This chamois pad has an inner fabric surface from Eschler Bioactive. Eschler is the best of class for high certification standards guaranteeing their ability to wick perspiration. This fabric also has natural antibacterial properties from silver ions in the yarn. The pad's face has a thin microfiber yarn knitted in three dimensions to cushion. It does not retain moisture and stays dry next to your skin. Perforation of the memory foam helps with stretch and breathability. Testimonial I want to compliment Aero Tech Designs on their Elite bike shorts. I bought a pair of the Elite bike shorts when training to ride the Northern Tier (Seattle to Maine) and quickly purchased a second pair. I used the two pairs of Elite shorts to train for the Northern Tier, ride the Northern Tier and I have been using them to train for the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route which I will ride this summer with my brother in Law.
