This was done for longer ware than standaed electroplate. Ours were plated to 100 mil. thickness. Most of our rings and chains were done this way from the same manufacturer in Rhode Island (they are no longer in this business, they went out of business around 2004, so the lifetime guarantees we originally gave with these items no longer applies. most of our inventory dates from that time, 1980's to early 1990's. the last time we bought any of this inventory was in the early 1990's.
