Description: The Next Generation Mercury Trim Wrench has arrived! This trim wrench has the same superior quality as the previous version with some fantastic upgrades. First, the handle is designed with finger holds for improved gripping. The added trim rod collar slides over the trim rod, on top of the wrench, to create a tight torque and eliminate the chance of the wrench slipping. Lastly, the square at the base of the wrench can be used in combination with a torque wrench for more power.*Important note* remove trim rod collar once the trim rod has been loosened enough to remove to avoid scratching the trim rod as it comes off. THIS WRENCH WAS DESIGNED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF REMOVING THE ALUMINUM CAP FROM THE MERCURY TRIM ROD ASSEMBLY WITHOUT DESTROYING IT . THE CAP HAS TWO HOLES BUT THE WRENCH HAS EIGHT HOLES FOR POSITION OPTIONS. TRIM WRENCH IS MADE OF STEEL WITH A BLACK OXIDE FINISH. THE PIN ASSEMBLY IS MADE UP OF A 5/16-24 HEAT TREATED ALLEN CAP SCREW AND HAS A 3/16 DOWEL PIN PRESSED INTO THE BODY. THIS ASSEMBLY DESIGN ALLOWS YOU TO REPLACE A PIN IF DAMAGED BY UNSCREWING THE CAP-SCREW AND REPLACING IT WITH A NEW ONE WHICH ARE AVAILABLE THROUGH MOTO-STOP-SHOP at $5.45 ea.
