Description: WALT DISNEY'S MICKEY MOUSE'S SURPRISE VISITOR (Dell 1950). FOUR COLOR #268 Story and artwork by FLOYD GOTFREDSON. In the story, Friday, a native Mickey befriended on an adventure in Africa, sends his brother Thursday to Mickey's house in order to have him receive an education. Thursday causes Mickey all sorts of trouble with his lack of understanding of American customs. It's a pretty grossly racist depiction of Africans and it's no big surprise that it was never re-printed in the United States after this. It was originally printed in the newspaper daily strips from January 1940 through April. It was later re-printed in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #22-24 and last, it was printed here in 1950. Higher grade copies of this book are "Hard-to-Find". FINE-VERY FINE (7.0) condition. This is a beautiful copy of this magazine with excellent color and original gloss. The corners and edges look sharp. The spine shows some tics and a couple minor handling impressions. The staples tightly bind the cover and all interior pages (centerfold photo provided). At the upper left there is a small mark with a grease pen. On the back cover there is a crease at the top left corner and at the bottom right there is a tiny outer layer paper peel.
