This is a new 5.25" floppy disk of the 64K Apple IIe version (also works with IIc and IIGS).A bit of history (courtesy of Jim Peak):"The compiler we made, and that Microsoft licensed, was first released as 'TASC'. It shipped on a single disk and used only 48K memory. Then, the name had to be changed away from 'TASC' because The Analytic Sciences Corp. was already using 'TASC'.So, Microsoft began shipping it as 'Microsoft Applesoft Compiler'.Either at that point or shortly thereafter, we created 64K and 128K versions and shipped them with the 48K version. These worked as follows:♦ 48K version: worked as before.♦ 64K version: DOS had to be relocated, using a utility we included. The memory freed up by that was used to compiler more quickly.♦ 128K verison: same as the 64K version but also used the 64K 'bank switching' that was available with the ][e and //c."This version requires an Apple II with a minimum of 64K, Apple DOS 3.3 (not included on the disk) and a minimum of one 5.25" floppy disk drive.Ships USPS FCM.
