Description: Mid Century Modern Art Pottery Ceramic Vessel Bowl Abstract 8" Wide xm5" TallSigned Red Terracotta look clay.Bowl appears to be pieced together. The inside is glazed with tan and white. The outside is marked with a circular and line pattern and primarily unglazed. It has a mesh pattern on the bottom. It is truly evocative of the 1970s. Thus liquids could be held inside of this bowl. But, given the artistic statement it makes, I believe it's more likely to be displayed. The pottery mark is shown on the bottom of the bowl and in several places inside. It has been scraped with a pick as well. It was bought at an estate sale in Virginia, USA. Its origin is not clear, though the family that held the estate sale had collected pottery and art from both the US and Japan, so it could be from either country, though the mark looks like the English alphabet to me.
