Mid Century Modern MCM Brutalist Metal Wall Sculpture by B.H. Kelvin 1973 Signed

Description: BRUTALIST MCM MID-CENTURY MODERN METAL WALL SCULPTUREBY BRUCE H KELVIN - SIGNED AND DATED - 1973 This is an original hand-made metal art piece by BH Kelvin in the Brutalist style. The subject appears to be derived from nature as it is evocative of lily pads, flowers, leaves, oyster, or even mushrooms-- yet stylized to some abstraction with jagged, torch-cut and burnt edges, and slightly-iridescent colors in the metal shapes. The overall composition is reminiscent of a tree with arced canopy, or again, a mushroom!Whatever you see in this design, it is organic and timeless. Dimensions of this sculpture are large enough to make an impressive statement without overwhelming the space: 41in W x 28in H x 2.5-4 in Deep**The depth can be adjusted as each "leaf" or "flowe"r can be manipulated to stand out further or be pushed back "flatter". This sculpture has amazing sonorousness-- like that of a wind chime!When moved, or even touched, you can hear a "ringing" or vibration in the metal that seems to richochet off of the other "flowers". The signature is on the lower right hand "flower"-- shown in close-up in the final photo in the gallery.I have since cleaned the piece and it is clearer and shinier than it may appear in these photos.If I have time, I'll re-photograph and posts new pictures. But I think you get the idea! An important, striking sculpture symbolizing the rawness of natural beauty that can be found in a rough and often cruel industrialized society.
