Description: This contemporary mid century modern inspired Kotatsu coffee table was designed by Ayako Takase and Cutter Hutton in the 1990s and produced by Herman Miller in 2008. This rectangular coffee table made from maple plywood and maple bentwood veneer with black laminate top and steel legs features a two-tiered design with lower divided compartments. The table concept is Japanese-inspired and is meant to serve as a low utilitarian table to be used for eating or as a functional workspace. The design also references the inventive and classic mid century plywood creations of Charles and Ray Eames. Herman Miller label to underside.
