Description: Tri-ang Express Loco No. 24 These lovely pressed steel pull along toy trains were introduced in the early 1960's. Two models in this style were introduced, the only difference is that No. 23 had disc wheels with rubber tyres while No. 24 had solid rubber tyres. This is model no. 24.At the time, the 1969 Tri-ang Toys catalogue entry described TM5620 No. 24 LOCO as "A racy streamlined loco, strongly built, highly coloured and with thick rubber tyres. Length 21ins." This one is 'as found' condition. Its covered in surface rust, but is solid and largely complete. The only dents are to the rear buffer plate and the front buffer plate (please see photos). The two front pressed tin buffers are missing (the matching rears are present). The Tri-ang Express decals that were fixed to either side of the cab are also missing. When new, these were painted red with a yellow cab roof and yellow front with yellow trim/pinstriping detail. There are still traces of the original yellow and red paint Depending on how you view this one, it has fantastic original patina and would display very well - they're only original once! Alternatively, it would be an ideal base for a full restoration. Thanks for looking!
