Description: Miniature Dollhouse Randall Zadar Hand Painted Crab & Fish with Key Statue 23/100 Zadar's Exquisite Enchantment This is a rare, hand painted miniature bronze figurine called “Sneak Attack”, made by the talented artist Randall Zadar in 2003. It is a permanently retired piece, hand signed and numbered 23/100 ever made. It is perfectly scaled to be displayed as a decorative piece within a 1:12 scale room. It has been stored in its protective box and has never been displayed before so it is in pristine condition with vibrant painted details. Its original box is included. It is an original studio design depicting a hermit crab within its shell, holding a key to the treasure chest and the fish are creeping after it. This piece was made with great precision by Randall Zadar who undergoes a complex and time-consuming process to create his miniature bronze figures. It begins with sculpting a wax master, which can take up to 200 hours to complete. Once the master is complete, a mold is made and additional wax patterns are produced. These wax patterns are then placed in a flask and encased in a plaster-like material called investment. The flasks are slowly heated in an oven for 12 hours, which melts out the wax and creates a negative cavity in the investment material. The cavity is then filled with molten bronze, which creates the bronze figurine. After the bronze has cooled, it is cleaned and inspected. The figurine is then sandblasted and painted. Finally, it is varnished, numbered, signed, and boxed. Each design is produced in a very small number which is retired shortly thereafter, making them unique and special pieces for a miniature collection. Measurements:1:12 scale, 3/4" tall This miniature came from a wonderful lifetime, BEAUTIFUL miniature collection, all collected by one incredible woman, Grace. She was passionate about artisan made miniatures. Her collection consists of thousands of the most incredible pieces, there are notes and receipts with most every miniature as well as correspondence letters from artists. It is an honor to bring her collection to miniature dollhouse collectors. As with all artisan pieces, there was only ONE made, so if you are interested, there won't be a second chance to acquire some of the most special and amazing dollhouse treasures I personally have seen.
