Description: This handcrafted wooden box features a round shape and a screw on top lid. The box is small in size and measures 1 inch in outside Diameter and 0.625 inches in height and has an Inside Diameter ( ID) of roughly 5/8 " or .625 in, which is tiny. The box has an antique natural patina finish. It is decorated with a boxing subject ( it is not decorated with that, I just left it here to show how crazy AI can be, lol) and is perfect for storing extremely small items. Nothing legible, though. Consider the pics to be part of the description. The reason I think it is partially worn off ink and not wood discoloration/ character is that the following closeup pic of the inside of the box has no such coloring coming through from wood grains, blemishes, or discoloration. If you use this as a ring box, she needs to have small fingers. It would also work nicely for diamond stud earrings, a diamond stud pendant, or a loose stone premounting. This is a way to add true vintage charm to a small gift. At first, when I got it, I thought it was a drawer pull knob bc I didn't know it unscrewed. It is indeed that snug fitting! As to what the ink may have said, I have no clue. Hand carved, circa 1850 to 1870. Looks like maple?
