Description: Mixed metal oxide MMO anodes (also called Dimensionally Stable Anodes DSA) are considered the best anode for making chlorates in an electrolytic cell. Compared to graphite it has virtually no wear and produces snow-white chlorates with minimal processing. Makes enough chlorate for all your pyro needs! Cannot be used to produce perchlorates since significant corrosion occurs when chloride levels drop below 30g/L - check out my listing for PbO2 anodes if you want to make perchlorate. Using MMO to make chlorates before using PbO2 to make perchlorates greatly extends PbO2 anode life compared to just using PbO2 to make perchlorate directly from chloride. The dimensions of the electrode are 10cm x 5cm, giving 50cm² of active area. The maximum current density is 0.25A/cm² (250mA/cm²) but 0.2A/cm² (200mA/cm^2) is recommended for greatly improved longevity.
