Description: In the photos if you see anything that’s like a light brown color it’s the rust prevention product that was sprayed on this prevent rusting on it. I know it slightly looks like rust but it’s not rust. I may be able to try to get the shipping weight total down to 70 pounds but that would only leave me 7 pounds for packaging and I don’t really feel comfortable with that for protecting it for how heavy this is but if I get it down to 70 pounds I can ship it with UPS ground advantage which would make it about I think half the price. Let me know what you think, I don’t wanna do that but if you wanna take that risk, please contact me ahead of time and I may be a little may change shipping over to that if I’m able to actually get a package and a reasonably safe manner in just 7 pounds I had planned on building a thin sheet plywood box for itand cardboard I bought this from a gentleman who was selling off his late father home machine shop everything in it was in excellent condition and you csn tell he went above and beyond to either buy tools And parts in excellent condition or refinished himself to be in excellent condition this is no different I was told this was for a 20” monarch lathe but the lathe it went to bad already been sold before I had got their so can’t confirm so please look at photos to make sure this will work with your lathe from my research I’m 99% sure this is a monarch steady rest but it seems that monarch had multiple bed widths for different 20” model lathes they had so please again make sure yours match up with this one thr total width of thr base of thr steady rest from one edge to thr other is 10” and from the side to the middle of thr v of the way is 1” and the other side from the edge to the end of the flat part of the way is 2” the total high of the v from the bottom for thr way is approx 1/2” . All the brass ends for thr steady rest look new and unused and all the exsposed metal parts of it have been coated in a anti rust compound so won’t rust There are a few very very minor scratches to the paint, but other than that, it looked to have been repainted recently. There’s a casting in the steady rest of a 205–2 and w 1026 all screws for the brass points to come out turned very smoothly and everything about this seems to be refinished or very very low use unit weighs approximately 65 pounds itself, but I will be building a small box out of plywood for it so it doesn’t get damaged so it’ll probably add at least 10 pounds I can either ship it if you want UPS or FedEx let me know if you have any particular shipping company you would like me to use. I’m not making any extra money on shipping whatever the cost is is whatever the company is gonna charge me. I’m sorry a lot. I can’t reduce the price anymore as I don’t want to get damaged in routeto protect I am adding Insurance as well to make sure if anything happens or it’s lost As well as signature so no porch pirate csn get away with stealing it if signature is a problem please let me know and I’ll not add it
