Money is Worthless: Understanding our World, Politics & Why Socialism Will Not W

Description: Money is Worthless by David Coberly Book Title: Money is WorthlessPurpose: Politics has been twisted into unrecognizable strategies that challenge the norms that Americans have believed in for over 200 years. We are continually told one thing while actions suggest the opposite is true. This book lays out a strategy for the reader to establish their own personal and family priorities and then develop a political philosophy to help guide them both in the voting booth and in making decisions affecting themselves and their family. My target audience is as follows: My grandchildren (why I started this book in the first place). The younger generation, where many have grown up without the benefits of educational courses about how the government works.People who have migrated to the United States (immigrants) who would like to understand their new country better.Anyone who questions how their government is working (or not working).Authors Background: This book is written from the perspective of an independent voter who tends to be a conservative. I am a Vietnam War veteran fighting cancer from exposure to Agent Orange. My background includes a BS Degree in Civil Engineering and a career as an engineer and manager within the federal government, with 38 years in government service. A portion of my career focused on organizational effectiveness to improve how government works. Primary Focus of the Book: My motivation in writing this book is to express concern regarding what I see as a federal government that has grown both in size and cost to the point that our taxpayers can no longer sustain the tax burden. The federal governments original purpose was to ensure all US citizens freedom. Following the Civil War, the leadership of our federal government was taken over by an elite group of industrialists that the Industrial Revolution had greatly enriched. There was a significant shift in the focus of our federal government that started in the 1900s, making the economy priority number one. With the introduction of federal income taxes in 1913, the tax system favored the rich and created a transfer of wealth from the middle class to the elite wealthy group of Americans that managed our government and influenced the political system. The central theme included is a call to downsize our federal government to ensure that all governmental functions are fully supported but reduce the scope of what our federal government is tasked to perform and move closer to the original purpose of government. A vital part of this book explains why budget cuts will not fix this problem; it requires rethinking what our government is tasked to do and then ensuring the remaining government has the resources to perform those tasks well. This book is also written from the perspective of a Christian sickened by our societys departure from fundamental Christian values. For readers who do not hold the same faith, I only ask that you pursue understanding. Each year, the divisions within politics and our society seem wider. Its time that we seek wisdom and pursue avenues of peace regarding how we speak with one another with the goal of all citizens living in harmony. Multiple political issues are addressed, including immigration (I will expose the apparent real motivation for an open border), gun control, abortion, restructuring our tax system (why the elite wealthy get richer at the expense of our middle class), a logical explanation why socialism will never work, the importance of freedom, how globalism is affecting our politics, global warming, COVID-19, the rule of law, and how policy affects the economy.
