The 1970 MONOGRAM "SUPER DIGGER" 1/12 dragster model kit DESIGNED BY TOM DANIEL with motorized operating action is a "rare" piece commanding $300.00 and up if you can find one. This model kit was manufactured only for (1) year. This "jewel" is the "original" gouache on chipboard painting that was actually used to print the box. How much rarer can you get than a "one-of-a-kind" painting to a very obscure kit? The original gouache on chipboard painting has been professionally mounted behind glass on a spectacular double matted red/black/red surrounded by a red aluminum frame. Overall dimensions are approximately 10" x 22". Photographs do not do this "work-of-art" justice. The painting is in perfect shape. It's unusual in that it was trimmed around the dragster outline, but that was how the art department decided to do it for the printing. This was done in the days before computers could lay in the background. They had to cut and paste. At any rate, it is perfect and a super-rare memorabilia piece. Original model box art was usually discarded after printing-not preserved in mint condition (55) years later like this one is!!!
