Description: Murano Cenedese Scavo Art Glass vase 7" Blue Beauty! This beautiful vase has an air of authenticity rarely found in the popular scavo vases.Has the look of a genuine antiquity! Cenedese preferred the speckled white style, unlike Seguso who like the caked flour technique. This 7" tall single handle vase has a rusticated surface on a Cobalt blue body that looks like Prussian blue on the outside because of the scavo treatment. You can see this glow in some of the photos where it is lit-up. Has a single cord spiraling down the base of the neck and flowing into the single handle. Source is the mid century Etruscan revivalin Italian glass making inspired by the digging up of relics from ancient ruins earlier in the century, where the objects had become encrusted by centuries in the elements. This gem is a classic Roman form used in ewers from that early era. This is a vase, not an ewer, as the mouth flares without a spout. No damage. A very elegant example of this ever popular technique in a superb, subtle and rare color! Saw one with same body in white with a blue looser coil and fancier handle unsigned half an inch taller, on 1st Dibs for $1300; Ships UPS to the USA and to eIS , eBay's center for shipping abroad .
