This beautifully curved white cased bowl features an array of bright colors, such as bright red, orange, brown and green accentuated with gold aventurine specks throughout for an amazing luster. The clear glass casing underneath form handles for ease of holding the dish, but also adds to the sumptuousness of the elaborate design. The pontil has been ground and polished to produce a flat surface for the base. These types of bowls were sometimes designed to be ashtrays, especially for cigars, back in the day. Nowadays, these lavish bowls are mainly used for decoration, or as extravagant fruit or candy bowls.This heavy bowl weighs about 2 lbs 15oz, and is about 3.5" tall, 10" long and 8.5" wide. It is in excellent vintage shape - one very small chip on edge that can not be seen unless rubbing your finger around the top.
