Description: Mustard Jam Condiment Jar Lid Gold Moriage Nippon Porcelain Antique This is a stunning antique (circa 1911) Morimura Nippon hand-painted condiment bowl with lid. It is white with a pink rose pattern and heavy gold moriage and beading. The hand painting is wonderfully done. The moriage is a liquid clay slip decoration which is applied much like decorating a cake and is very time intensive and required the most skilled workmanship. It is seldom seen on pieces made after the early Nippon years. The condiment bowl has the green Morimura Nippon green hallmark on the underside. The round underplate is attached. Made in Japan. This exquisitely patterned porcelain set is in good antique condition, no cracks, hairlines or crazing. Measurements: 3-1/2" H x 4-1/2" diameter Weight: .41 lbs.
