Description: This is a 1961 printing that has some damage to the cover (pages are OK). It is hardcover and the English version. Printed in London and sold in Hong Kong in November 1965 via the Harris Book Company/Hong Kong. There is writing in the book and this serves as provenance to the fact that this book was heavily read and studied by a chess aficionado in the early 1960’s. Signed by S. Yee, whom I suspect to be the original owner of this book. This book made its way back to the US via Denver (found with other Denver-area items/books), then El Paso, TX, where I stumbled upon it. I paid a good penny for it and read parts of it when I was studying chess (and subsequently dropped/gave-up). This is an amazing piece of reference and a fantastic piece of history. If this book could talk, it would have some stories. Make an offer. Not in the greatest of shape, but a bonafide 1961 copy (last year of the reprints). Mr. Nimzowitsch died in 1935, long before this was printed, but the actual manuscript was written in the 1920’s. For years, he was the best player in the world (or among them, anyway) and this was, for a while, the chess players’ go-to reference book. This guy was up there with other masters like Lasker, Tarrasch and Mason. Don’t get zugzwang’ed and let this away; get this for your collection today!
