Description: NASA Space Shuttle Commander's Flight Data LockerFlown on Endeavour STS-77serial # AW2915 This locker was mounted in the crew compartment flight deck of Space Shuttle Discovery ( Orbitor Vehicle 003 ) next to the Pilot or Commander. There were several of this mounted and were used for storage for items such as check lists, maps, charts, etc. There is NASA issue blue velcro which was used on all Shuttle missions to hold items down for the crew. This item comes wrapped in mylar and kapton tape with imprinted serial number on the inside lid along with a Serviceable Material Tag with matching numbers. The Inspection code on the tag reveals this was part of the Fligh Crew System on OV ( Orbiter Vehicle) 003 ( Discovery ) and was removed after Discovery's 20th flight, which was STS-70. These are fairly rare, as there were only 4 or 5 of these for each shuttle and where replaced with cloth bags in the late 90's. The locker is roughly 12" x 12" x 3" in size and made of lightweight aerospace aluminum. No International orders.
