What we have here is a Tune-O-Matic bridge mounted on a tailpiece for a Rickenbacker 425/450/460. Why? Because we can. You know how this started... There are lots of older Rickenbacker 425's and 450's out there which either don't have the original floating bridge or stay in the case because that original bridge just doesn't work well. There are lots of ways to address that problem: you can upgrade to a standard Rick 6-saddle bridge (but that often means a new pickguard, as well). You can mount a TOM directly to the guitar (but that means drilling big holes in the guitar). Well, we've decided to solve that problem with a little more thought and style. So, this is what you get: First, it's a tailpiece for a Rick 400-series guitar. Fastened to that tailpiece are two mounting studs. Sitting on top of those studs is a Nashville TOM bridge -- with solid brass saddles that you can notch for your preferred string spacing. What does all that mean? It means that by simply replacing the the tailpiece on your guitar (without drilling any new holes) you can replace that old, wobbly, out-of-tune floating bridge with a stable, tunable Nashville TOM. Anyway you look at it, that's a big step up. NB: This is a drop-in replacement for a Rickenbacker tailpiece. You get the bridge, the tailpiece, the thumbscrews, and the mounting screws.
