Up for auction is an original HORATIO SEYMOUR - FRANCIS BLAIR campaign ferrotype badge which are scarce in this condition.The ferrotype is in Extra fine or near mint condition and measures approximately 25 mm . The obverse of the ferrotype has HORATIO SEYMOUR ‘s name above his image and the reverse has FRANCIS P. BLAIR JR . name above is image . The gilted brass of the badge is very good condition. There are loss of emulsion or bubbling of the ferrotype. However, there is blemish on the nose the Blair image and a small scratch above his head but I believe this was done in the processing and appears below the surface of the ferrotype . Theimages of both candidates are sharp with good contrast. This 1868 Seymour- Blair ferrotype is one of the nicest items to add to the collector of American Political Memorabilia.
