We also like the fact that recycling the capsule helps reduce waste (aluminum and money). To reuse the capsule we rely on either RECAPS or My-Cap foil seals to cap the pods. However, reusing capsules involve a lot clean up which takes time if done individually. So I thought about simplifying the process and using the dishwasher to clean the capsules. Since the capsules are tiny, it is difficult to keep it in place and cleaned properly. I designed this tray to hold 7 empty capsules and be placed on the top rack of the dishwasher allowing for multiple capsule clean up. DESIGNThe tray has 7 individual capsule housing. Each housing has a contoured slot and a locking nib that hold the capsules firmly in place. The floral shape allow for reduced material usage and frontal area allowing for less flow blockage inside the dishwasher. The added design feature is to use this tray as storage for your coffee pods. MATERIALThe item is 3D printed using a plastic material called PETG, the same durable plastic used in drink containers. The item color is opaque clear. INSTRUCTIONSRemove the foils and compost the used coffee grounds. Take the empty capsules and slide one side towards the contoured slot while making sure the other side clears the nib. Its locked in place if the nib is seen outside of the capsule ring. Slide the rest of the capsules in place and put on the top rack of the dishwasher. After running your normal dish washing cycle, remove the tray and slide the capsules off.
