This item is made of solid wood and is natural - the item may have knots, saw marks, etc., and questions you may have - please don't hesitate to ask. I will get back to you as soon as possible.If you desire to finish this item on your own, you may have to sand it with an extra fine grit sandpaper to achieve the finish you are hoping.
