The U.S. activated the 11th Airborne Division in Alaska, consolidating two (2) Brigades of the 25th Infantry Division located there. In addition, formed new divisional elements from other units located in Alaska as well as activating additional units - as example the Divisional Headquarters. The insignia of the 11th Airborne Division are based upon previous insignia of the 11th dating from WW2 to the late 1960's when it was an Air Assault TEST division. These are all single pieces. As mentioned, the shoulder patch of the 11th is slightly smaller than the older WW2 insignia. The Airborne tab is the standard white on blue insignia. A great insignia set!
