Purchased online but then missed the return window (after determining that it wouldn't fit in our particular bathroom). From a SMOKE-FREE home. All photos are of the actual item that you'll receive. They show the assembled unit, which has been disassembled to ship in its original box. Assembly was easy with the included hex key/wrench. Manufacturer included extra hardware (shown in photos in the red bag). The clear bag is nearly empty because I used what they sent--it was exactly enough. I didn't use any of the wall mounting hardware, since we never installed it after assembling it. You'll also see the included picture instructions sent. It was all easy to follow. I wish this unit had worked for us because it was exactly what I'd been looking for. Apparently, this is an updated/improved version of this shelf/unit. Top shelf features a wraparound bar so items won't fall off. Three hooks (they are one unit, not 3 separate hooks) attach to the very bottom of the unit (below the third small shelf), either on the front edge or the back (I chose the back, as seen in the photos)--you can decide this yourself as you're assembling the long bottom portion of the shelving unit by rotating that piece so the hooks attach however you wish before securing it to the upper 2-shelf portion. Other customization is using just the top two shelves and/or assembling/using the top shelf with the bar on the front side (as shown) or no bar at all [it does not go on the wall side because there are no holes drilled on those parts]. The bottom shelf section can be used for towels or yoga mats, blankets, other linens, etc., so this unit not only is useful in a bathroom, but also in a mudroom (for storing pet items or whatever), RV, hotel or B&B room, etc. The black metal is matte and coated with a rust-proof substance.
