Tommy Jackson has produced some of the most important N/A creations in jewelry for almost 50 years. The preowned TJ natural turquoise ring's dimensiones and weight has been well documented in the photos. I want to address the light spot that appears as a flaw in the stone. It is NOT a chip or depression in the stone but in fact a little brownish, possibly quartz inclusion in the stone. In fact the stone is completely smooth and even to the touch. The ring is a recent production maybe less than 5 years? It has the very contemporary studio "darkened" media finish to the Sterling Silver along with what appears to my eye an entire ingot Sterling Silver fashioned setting. The ring is very comfortable on the finger and is very understated and tailored look. It has a revival motif with the fan stamping of the heavy mounting plate and the side shields match with fan stamping in heavy Sterling Silver. As a newer production it is very possible this darker Blue turquoise stone with the heavy dark blue/black matrix withe some sandy colored host rock is from a Nevada mine. To my eye it is very close to the Lander Blue mine. I have no proof or direct knowledge of this. However, if you were to see Annie Osburn's book on Nevada Gem Collections "Jewel of the Southwesr" the colors and pic's are very close to Lander Blue, and I assume her pic's are of the best examples. Lander Blue to date has sold more per dollar per carat than any other domestic turquoise. For me Lander Blue is not the most happy looking turquoise in fact it is very dark and somber and Tommy Jackson has done an excellent job presenting it in that way, and yet it still is alluring, interesting and announces quality N/A hand built craftsmanship in a tailored way that would allow it to be dressed up or down. This ring sizes to 7 7/8 on my high quality US made sizing mandrel approximately 7 3/4 would be perfect for this heavy built thick even and smooth split shank ring. I do NOT size nor recommend the sizing of this collectable ring. Please ask question and I am usually able to provide more pics.
