Description: The New Zealand Red Cross first started operation in 1914 but under the British Red Cross up until 1931 when it was given its independence as the New Zealand Red Cross Society. It wasn't until 1990 when it dropped "Society". Due to this pin having raised metal with an enamel coating (the way many pins are being produced today) it was likely produced close to the end of the period of using "Society" in the late 80s. This pin might be a little more common to find in New Zealand but quite hard to come across in the US as is also the case for any vintage New Zealand Red Cross pins. Very good condition - just a little nick on the metal on the back side.
