Bailey grew up in the Oklahoma City area and played college football at Oklahoma State University. Following the 2011 NFL Draft, Bailey signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent. He has the second highest field goal accuracy of any kicker in NFL history. Bailey was the most accurate kicker in 2015, tied with New York Giants placekicker Josh Brown, with 93.8% converted and 100% of extra points converted. Born in Oklahoma City, Bailey grew up in Mustang, Oklahoma, and attended Southwest Covenant School where he was an all-state, all-conference kicker and a first-team all-city punter (as selected by The Oklahoman), while playing eight-man football. As a senior, Bailey had 51 touchbacks in 61 kickoffs. He holds the high school state records for longest field goal (50-yards), most field goals in a season (seven) and career (14). He was also an individual state champion golfer. Bailey graduated from Southwest Covenant as valedictorian of the class of 2007. Dan Bailey and the rest of the Cowboys’ team captains wore multi-colored “C” patches during Sunday’s Cowboys-Packers game as part of the NFL’s expanded “Crucial Catch” efforts to support the fight against cancer. In previous October games during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Cowboys’ team captain wore pink “C” patches. The pink stripes on this year’s multi-color patches represent the Cowboys’ continued support of Susan G. Komen, the organization that addresses breast cancer on multiple fronts such as research, community health, global outreach and public policy initiatives. Komen’s founder, Nancy Brinker, attended Sunday’s game along with breast cancer survivors who proudly held a large pink ribbon that adorned the playing field during halftime ceremonies. The other colors in the striped patches represent the Cowboys’ and NFL’s initiative to expand the “Crucial Catch: Intercept Cancer” campaign to address multiple forms of cancer. Money raised by the league’s campaign will be directed towards support of three screenable cancers: breast, colorectal and cervical. You will receive the item as shown in the first photo.
