Description: Short sabre or briquette sword known as "Gallo" used mainly by sergeants of the different police forces, specifically of the Capital and the province of Buenos Aires between the years 1880 to 1930 approximately. The guard is simple, with a ring or stirrup, without shields, made of cast bronze, and the cock ends in a rounded tip.The pommel and handle are a single piece of bronze joined to the tang by rivets.The blade is straight and with hollows on both sides.On the heel of the right side of the blade there is an engraving with the figure of a rooster that gives the popular name by which this sabre is known.On the heel of the left side, below the distinctive helmet of the brand, and in the form of a semicircle, the legend weapons factory the engraving correspondsCarl Eickhorn (1865-1886).The toe ends in a round button.
