Description: This 100 Nigerian naira note commemorates the 100th anniversary of Nigerias unification. It is the first note to incorporate a Quick Recognition (QR) code into its design. When scanned, the QR code goes to a website that tells the centenary story of Nigeria. The note has purple, red, peach, brown, and green colors and dimensions of 151 mm by 78 mm. Its obverse side features Chief Obafemi Awolowo, the former Premier of the Western Region who played a key role to Nigerias independence. Its reverse side contains English text, manillas, an underprint of primitive animal figures and leaves, a QR code, manila and coconuts, cowrie shells, the Nigerian coat of arms, and five Nigerians in traditional garb playing musical instruments, dancing, and carrying a basket. Security features of the note include a green-to-purple SPARK manilla, a coconut registration device, a motion windowed security thread with the Nigerian flag and 100, and a watermark of Chief Obafemi Awolowo and electrotype 100 CBN. It is dated 2014 and signed by Central Bank Governor Godwin Emerfiele and Director of Currency and Branch Operations Olufemi Fabamwo. This note is in uncirculated condition and authenticated by Banknote World experts.
