The front plate had structural repairs, but only a small crack is visible on the outside in the bottom left corner, which is shown on picture 4. This was also repaired. Because of this the scanner is selling for much less than usual. Grab a bargain. It's not the front plate that does the scanning and finding another serviced Coolscan 8000 for such a low price will be a challenge. SCANNER ONLY - No film holders included in this sale.Unlike many other units online this one had been fully serviced: - Complete strip down, film transport frame taken apart and cleaned.- Metal guide rails removed, brass bearings uncluttered and new grease applied.- First surface mirror removed, cleaned, re-seated.- Focus assembly worm gear checked, lube applied. Extra fixing added into nylon gear.- Film carriage worm gear cleaned, new lube applied.- Plastic main motor shaft connector replaced with a strong metal connector. Tested & checked, works well. ****** Comes with: UK power cable. I can replace that with a US power cable. SCANNER ONLY - No film holders included in this sale.****** Please note the scanner does not come with software. This can be downloaded from Nikon's website. You will need a modified driver if you want to install that on Windows 7, 10 or 11.
