If the songs resonate with the kids, then I know I have a melody or a hook that I can work with. In the studio, I layer in what appeals to me and, hopefully, the parents, too. For example, in 'Dinosaur Dance' I use a fairly distorted electric guitar in the guitar solo - not an instrument that one would usually associate with kids' music. But, for me, it just felt right, and I hope that parents like it as well. Plus, I wouldn't mind seeing a little 'air guitar' from the kids.'
