Description: Set of nine plates made in 1870s period by WT Copeland. Each plate displays a scene from one of Shakespeare's plays. The plates are brilliantly colored transfers and can be dated from 1867 to 1890s. The plates are in very good condition for their age. There are a few of the plates that have light scratches in the center, many have glaze checking. and there are three plates that have rim flakes or chips with some of the titles having wear or non existent. Please see close ups of all of the plates within the description. Marked with a backstamp WT Copeland Stoke On Trent, England and a number which appears to be 4864. 10 3/4" in diameter.
