Description: Noritake Japan "Somerset" VTG- Footed Cup & Saucer (set of 6) 12 pieces MINT EUC This is a (set of 12 pieces) vintage retired Noritake "Somerset" Footed Cup & Saucer set. This set measures out about 5.5" inches in diameter for the saucers and they stand approximately 3/4" inches tall and the accompanying cups will hold approximately 5 ounces and have a diameter of 3 3/4" inches with 4 3/4" inches including the handle, and stand 2" inches tall. The "Somerset" pattern from NORITAKE Japan was only made from 1952 until 1973, so it is roughly 60-plus years old. It is an older pattern that is very elegant with the white fine porcelain decorated with dainty tan and gray scrolls around the rims with larger pink and blue flowers and leaves scattered around the inside body of the bowls, trimmed with a thicker gold line around the rims. Like the Lugged Soup bowls these cups have a thin gold line around the outside of the cup and around the foot of the cup with the handle rimmed in gold also. This is a quiet, understated and classic pattern with it's pastel multicolored pieces and in the thoughtful design. This set would be a nice addition to Noritake you may already own or another China as accompanying pieces.
