Description: Ernest Aasen was born on August 9, 1921, in Velva, ND, to Anton and Anna Aasen. He grew up and attended school there. He served in the U.S. Army, 947th Air Engineers, the army's first special service force, during WWII, serving in Italy, Africa, Germany and the Aleutian Islands. He was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Following his service, he returned to Minot, ND, and then attended watchmaking and gemology school in Missouri. He moved to Fargo, ND, and went to work for Royal Jewelers for several years. Ernest worked for Jewelmont Corporation of Minneapolis, as a wholesale jewelry salesman, travelling the upper Midwest and Alaska. About 8-3/4" diameter.1 lb 5 ozIn excellent vintage condition.
