Description: Northern Rhodesia Definitive SC#27 1938 King George VI M/NH/OG Pristine You are purchasing one stamp. This is the one penny stamp. The front image features native habitat, giraffes and elephants. This is an exquisite stamp in pristine condition. This stamp is a must-have for any collector. Personally, I have found the one penny stamp the most difficult in the set to obtain. Across the internet, I have seen a few of this particular stamp. Most are used. The Prices are all over the place. I make a great effort to price all of my listed items as close to their fair market value as possible. Remember, you tend to get what you pay for. This stamp is well worth the money. Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) began printing their own stamps in 1925 (after becoming a British Protectorate- 1924). The design is exactly the same as the definitive set of stamps printed in 1925. The difference? On the 1925 stamps, King George V was featured. On the second set in 1938 the designers simply changed the portrait to then King George VI. In both cases, the set featured 17 stamps, each with a different value and color. I have seen lots of misinformation on these stamps online. I do my homework. Combined shipping on similar items up to 2.5 ounces. Thank you for shopping, lawsont_artist.
