Description: Northwestern Jet Gumball Machine 1 Cent Red Operational Restored with Keys Description and Item Information Up for sale is this vintage Northwestern Jet gumball machine. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This gumball machine accepts pennies. The gumballs shown in the photo were in it when I acquired it, but they are not included as they were old and have since been discarded; the gumballs that were in it were about 3/4 inch across. This machine comes with three keys; one operates the upper lock and two operate the lower lock. The machine is approximately 13 1/8 inches tall, 7 1/8 inches wide, and 8 1/4 inches deep (front to back, including the turning handle). Unpacked, it weighs 9 pounds 14.9 ounces. This would be a fun addition to a collection of vintage gumball machines. Identification This is a Northwestern Jet 1 cent gumball machine, which was made in Morris, Illinois. It is vintage, but the exact age is not known. The keys may be different ages. This is from a northern California estate collection of Americana. Condition The gumball machine looks great overall, as shown, with very light wear. The keys work. The machine was tested and it is operational and it will dispense gumballs. There are a few very small paint chips. The machine was restored by the original owner, and the red paint was redone. I do not know what else was done during the restoration process. The clear acrylic/plastic window and decal look very good. The unpainted metal parts on the exterior have some fine scratches.
