Description: Norton Small Sportsman / Handyman Pocket Stone. Measures 3" x 7/8" x 3/8". A small fine grit India stone (orange in color) in a vinyl pouch. Not labeled as to grit count but should be 320 grit based on Norton's web site. No box. Not marked as to country of origin but most Norton stones are made in Mexico. NEW Generally you will sharpen your knife in this manner: Place the blade at a 20 degree angle and lay the heel of the blade on the stone. Steady the extended tip of the knife with one hand to guide it, and draw the blade toward you, sweeping across the stone in an arc. Turn the blade over and repeat the process on the other side. Always go in one direction - NEVER go back and forth. You will repeat this sharpening gesture 10 to 20 times on each side. You can best visualize the motion if you think of it as trying to shave a thin slice off of the top of the stone.
