Description: Vintage Mid Century Norwegian Cruise Line M.S. Starward, cruise ship souvenir charm or pendant. Approximately 1” diameter, it weighs 4.7 grams and besides being engraved M.S. Starward, is marked on the back: 925S (sterling) BH (maker's mark). Starward was the first purpose-built ship for the then newly-established Norwegian Cruise Line.On 21 December 1968, Starward sailed on its first cruise. It was the first Norwegian-flagged ship to meet American ‘Method 1’ fire-protection standards that specified the use of non-combustible materials throughout passenger and crew accommodations. It existed as M/S Starward until 1995, when it was sold and its name was changed. It was scrapped in 2018.
