Description: GM new old stock part# 3985720 which interchanges with 3969442 and 3852997 axle shaft pair for 1965-70 Chevrolet passenger cars with 12-bolt rear-end. This is a pair that is stamped '5720' on the ends, one may be used, seems to have a little wear on the outer corners of the splines and is greasy (but we have seen NOS with GM parts tags with oil/grease on them). Look at photos and only purchase if you know for sure these will work for you. GM parts book shows these are 30-spline (we confirmed that) and the books also show an outside length of 31-17/64". We do not know how they measure that, but when we stand one up on a concrete floor and measure the entire length, we would say they are between 31-3/4" to 31-7/8". Left and right are the same part number for this application. One has a little more surface rust than the other, we are not sure that would be an issue or not.
