Description: NOS Vintage 1st Gen Gold Suntour Superbe Parts Group 1977+ 165mm Crank Beautiful NOS & Used First Generation Vintage Gold Suntour Superbe Road Bike Group for your late 1970s High End Road bike 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980 bicycle although you can use it in any bike you please if it fits. Suntour Introduced Superbe in 1977 as there top of the line Group, Cyclone was previously on top but now was second to Superbe. Gold Groups were often used on Show Bikes to showcase a builder's New Bikes. Maeda Industries was the parent company for Suntour, Sugino, Dia Compe, SR and others, dating some of these parts required using date codes from the division where they were made. NOS Gold Superbe Cranks Square Taper Crank for 144 BCD chainrings, the Length is 165mm, and take Common 9/16" spindle Pedals. I suspect crank was made by Sugino, Crank Date Code: G-7 dates this is 1977. NOS 1976 Gold Superbe Rear Derailleur, Date Code TJ the Very First Superbe. NOS Gold Superbe Front Derailleur for Double Chainrings and for Vintage 28.6mm Steel seat tubes, Date Code TJ also 1976. Braze on Superbe / Cyclone Shifters Incomplete at the moment. NOS Gold Superbe Brake lever with Superbe Gum Hoods. Gold Dia Compe Grand Compe 400 Brake Calipers possibly lightly used or NOS with shelf wear. Group comes as Shown. Made in Japan. I am unsure of how may Gold Superbe Groups made it to the USA, I think this Gold Superbe groups were showcased on High End Japanese bikes of the times, I have a 3RENSHO Bike adorned with one of these Gold Superbe Groups. Most of this Group is NOS, Very Rare Color and First Generation, Beautiful, Can show slight wear and have light scratches from age and shelf life, may have the slightest peppering on the steel parts, the parts would compliment a Beautiful frame, possibly could use further detailing and lubrication.
