The Custom 4-way harness follows a tried and true formula, giving your Tele the familiar master tone, master volume and three positions that we all know and love. Plus a little extra. Kick your Tele into the new fourth position and your old work horse becomes a beast with the neck and bridge pickups working in series to provide a more powerful humbucker like tone. You can use this position for stronger rhythm and screaming leads. This prevents tone 'muddiness' at low volumes by allowing high frequencies to pass along a separate path to your amp, rather than being stopped short by the increasing resistance at the volume control. They can also be used to upgrade Japanese Fender & Squier guitars with some adjustments. In the least, you will need a new genuine Fender USA control plate and new 1/4" knobs to fit the higher grade electronics. We cannot guarantee that these will fit any other guitar. Note: aftermarket control plates do not have the correct Fender spec spacing and as such will not fit our electronics. We recommend a genuine Fender plate – Part Number: 099-2058-000 At ObsidianWire we use US spec 1/4" Solid shaft controls. We recommend that you check your knobs are the correct size and replace them if necessary. *THREE WIRE NECK PICKUP MOD - To properly ground your neck pickup you will need to add an additional wire to it. This is an easy mod & we provide the instructions and wire to do the job but it does require a solder joint. Please allow for this when buying this upgrade.
