Description: This offering is for a mid 19th century wallet made of a woven grass or straw type material with a red silk cloth lining. The wallet features a fantastic red, black and natural, checker board design that gives it a kind of modernist graphic flair. The wallet opens to reveal one pocket on the inside. The wallet may also have been used as a needle case but if it was I do not see much sign of it's ever having held needles. The overall length when opened flat is 8.5" and 5.5" high. When closed it measures app. 4.25" by 5". The condition is excellent with light wear and soiling but no rips, tears or repairs.
